Before Pungoing a corked bottle, a sealing cap may optionally be affixed to the bottle mouth. An o-ring in the cap seals to the bottle collar providing an extra layer of protection, especially for long-term storage. The cap can adapt to a range of collar diameters, but every so often, a proper fit cannot be achieved. In this case, DO NOT use the cap. Integral to the cap is a tri-seal that prevents inert gas in the bottle from escaping as the Pungo is removed and a sealing pin inserted.
